Stockton Ports' Eric Marinez making most of position change

STOCKTON – It’s been just over a year since Stockton Ports infielder Eric Marinez was suspended 80 games by testing positive for a performance enhancing drug, but the Dominican Republic native has returned after re-inventing himself as a strikeout pitcher.His newfound career received a boost when he and two teammates combined to pitch a no-hitter on July 22, the first nine-inning no-no in Ports team history in 38 years. Marinez struck out five in his two innings in relief.
